Confirmed anchors
Tata Electronics + PSMC fab durable
India's first major commercial 300mm semiconductor fab. Rs 91,000 cr (~US$11B), up to 50,000 wafers/month, mature nodes 28 to 110 nm. Cabinet approved 29 Feb 2024, under construction, first mature-node trial silicon targeted late 2026.
Tata Power solar durable
300 MW commissioned and operational at the Dholera solar park, part of 1,000 MW sanctioned Phase-I, with a 5 GW ultimate target.
ASML partnership durable
Tata Electronics and ASML, a global lithography leader, announced a strategic partnership to enable the ramp of the 300mm Dholera fab.
Tata Chemicals reported
Named industrial anchor investor for Dholera's allotted industrial land. Of 545 acres allotted, 476 are industrial.
Reported & announced
These have public announcements or MoUs but are not confirmed built capital. Treat the figures as announced, not delivered.
The industries Dholera is built for.
Lead with the two proven sectors, then the emerging and priority ones. Proven means a real, sourced anchor exists; priority means an official target sector with anchors still emerging.
Semiconductors & electronics
ProvenThe flagship sector. Anchored by the Tata + PSMC fab (Rs 91,000 cr), which pulls in a packaging, materials and supplier ecosystem.
Solar & renewable energy
ProvenAbout 300 MW of Tata Power solar operational, 1,000 MW sanctioned, 5 GW target. Clean power that also feeds the industrial base.
Data centres
EmergingNew under the state Data Centre Policy (Dholera named primary). L&T-Vyoma agreement confirmed; water and grid are the honest constraints.
Logistics & trade
EmergingFlagship DMIC node with the expressway open, airport near, rail cleared and a coastal location. A dedicated Logistics zone is in the plan.
Defence, aviation & heavy engineering
PriorityOfficial priority sectors suited to the airport and large contiguous land parcels. Committed anchors are still emerging.
Auto, manufacturing & metals
PriorityOfficial target sectors on Gujarat's manufacturing base and plug-and-play plots. Invited opportunity zones.
Industrial clusters and the workforce plan.
What industries or sectors will Dholera have?
The official planned sectors are Defence, Aviation, Electronics and Semiconductors, High-Tech and Emerging, Pharma and Biotech, Heavy Engineering, Auto and Auto Ancillary, General Manufacturing, Agro and Food Processing, and Metals, plus renewables. DURABLE Total industrial area is about 11,000 hectares.
How many jobs will Dholera create?
Dholera's official target is more than 8,00,000 (800,000) jobs at full development, stated on the Gujarat government site. TARGET This is a full-build target, not current employment.
The plan breaks it down as about 312,900 direct industrial jobs plus about 483,630 indirect, by sector: Electronics and Emerging Tech 87,300; Pharma and Bio 49,100; Heavy Engineering 45,100; Auto and Ancillary 43,900; General Manufacturing 42,400; Agro and Food 27,500; IT/ITES 6,200. TARGET
How much has been invested in Dholera?
Use the grounded figure: over Rs 1.5 lakh crore of confirmed private investment across the wider Dholera/NICDC pipeline, with named anchors like the Tata fab (Rs 91,000 cr), NX Logistics (~Rs 86 cr) and Toyota (>Rs 1,700 cr across nodes). REPORTED Say Dholera/NICDC pipeline, not Dholera alone, since it may blend nodes.
For the Activation Area specifically, the government released Rs 2,784.83 cr in five infrastructure packages with matching equity, and transferred 48.31 sq km to DICDL. REPORTED The older broker headline of about Rs 2.5 lakh cr is retired as unverified.
